The Languedoc-Rousillon

The Languedoc-Rousillon (formerly Pays d’Oc) is a region in the South of France, which runs from Nîmes to Banyuls. This is the largest wine region in France. Due to the dry climate, lots of sunshine and its location on the Méditerranée, the Languedoc-Rousillon offers the ideal climatic conditions for viticulture. Even though it’s a relatively young wine region, it has experienced tremendous growth in a short time. Languedoc has changed it’s direction over time. From mainly mass production in the past to creating high quality wines nowadays, which are made with respect for nature and terroir.

The story behind the bottle

The malbec grapes are picked by hand at night. The grapes are then gently pressed and ready to be aged in wood. New and used oak barrels are being used in this process. A year later the wine is blended to achieve the ultimate balance. This is followed by a bottle aging of several months to allow the wine to settle down. After this the bottles are ready for use. Buttery with a hint of vanilla is what describes the taste of our malbec best. Robust and tough at first and luscious, creamy, and fat in the aftertaste.
